October Member Spotlight: Kevin League

What do you do for work/free time?

I work for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks full time and moonlight as a landscape, travel and nature photographer. I am more known for my photography than the private land conservation work that I do for FWP.

How did you land in Helena?

My job with FWP brought my family and I to Helena, although I have lived in Montana a couple of other times - once during a summer working for the concessionaire in Glacier National Park, and another time in Missoula working for the Forest Service.

What is the best piece of advice that you ever received – career-related or otherwise?

If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.

When do you feel the most yourself?

Outside recreating or hanging with friends.

Where is the last place you explored and where do you want to explore next?

I recently did a sweet little backpacking trip in the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness and now that its cooling off and fall is near, the canyons of southern Utah are calling me.

Tell us something about yourself that we didn’t ask:

Nickname! My dear old friends call me Grizz. That is because of a run-in I had with a Grizzly Bear in Glacier National Park during my first summer there that left some scars!
