How did you land in Helena?

Firefighting is an extremely competitive career. I applied over 100 times all across the country, and had dozens of interviews before getting hired in Helena. Couldn't be happier though, we ive in such a beautiful place, and this is where I want to retire.

What is the best piece of advice that you ever received – career-related or otherwise?

Never give up. If I hadn't continued to work hard, there is no way I'd be where I'm at today. Remember those people that support you along the way - thanks Katie!

When do you feel the most yourself?

When I am hiking with my wife and dog, or when floating down the Mighty Mo'. You can't really beat that!

Where is the last place you explored and where do you want to explore next?

My wife and I went to Greece on our honeymoon. That sparked wanting to travel abroad again, maybe Thailand this time. If you get a chance to get out of your comfort zone, definitely do it!

Tell us something about yourself that we didn’t ask:

In addition to work, spending time with my family, and being a HYPster, I became a member of the Helena Citizens Council. I think we need to get involved and engaged in our community in order to make it a better place.
